Luftwaffe Pilot In The News
Sunday, March 16th, 2008It isn’t everyday that you hear news about the exploits of German Luftwaffe pilots. Its been 53 years. But today there is a news story where Horst Rippert, an 88-year-old who once flew for the Luftwaffe and has a soon to be published book Saint-Exupery: The Final Secret says that he might have shot down the French Pilot and author, Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
He believes he may have shot down the Frechman who was at the time flying a reconnaissance mission. He can’t be sure, but believes he may have been the one he shot down who was flying a Lockheed P-38.
St. Exupery, author of The Little Prince among other work.
A sad news revelation, for sure. But we’ll probably never know if it is actually true.
If you’ve never read The Little Prince, you can read a copy online here.
